What is Lagree?

Lagree Fitness was invented and developed by legendary fitness visionary, Sebastien Lagree. The Lagree Method is a high-intensity, low-impact exercise method that tightens, strengthens, and tones by incorporating cardio, flexibility, strength, and endurance! Lagree movements incorporate the use of 600 muscles at once, making this method even more time-efficient for those on the go and those looking for quick but lasting results.

HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR MY FIRST CLASS?

  • Arrive 10 minutes before class so you have enough time to meet your instructor, get orientated to the equipment, and sign a waiver.  Please understand that for your safety, and the safety of the other members in class, we cannot allow late arrivals past 5 minutes of class starting.

  • Grip socks are required for safety and hygiene - no exceptions.  These are available for purchase at the studio and at local retailers like Target, Sport Chalet, and Whole Foods.  They are also available with many online retailers.

  • Wear comfortable, non-restrictive clothing that you can easily move in.

  • Loose jewelry is not a good idea.  It can get caught on the machine.

  • Please bring a water bottle.  We have a water-bottle filling station for your convenience.

  • A small towel is a good idea, as you'll probably get sweaty!

  • No cell phones during class - NO EXCEPTIONS. Please be respectful of the instructor and other class members. If you have an emergency which requires you to be on-call or that you’ll need to check your phone, please let your instructor know so we can reschedule your class.

  • Many of us on the team are parents, but we respectfully ask that children be left at home. For safety purposes, we cannot allow children to wait in the studio during class.

SHOULD MY FIRST CLASS BE A PRIVATE LESSON?

We do not require you to start with a private session due to the fact that classes are designed to work in a group setting. Our classes can accommodate all fitness levels and our certified trainers are excellent at adjusting exercises to meet your physical fitness needs.  We also offer a beginner class that is slower paced and focuses on orientation to the megaformer and the Lagree Method.

Please notify your instructor of any physical limitations or injuries.  If you have chronic back pain, painful joints, or a severe medical condition, it is recommended to take a private session first so that your certified instructor can assess your fitness level. If you have any questions or concerns, please let us know and we will take care of you.

HOW DO I MAKE THE MOST OUT OF MY CLASS?

One of the keys to an effective Motivate class is transition time.  The less time we take transitioning from one exercise to the next, the more time you spend stimulating muscle fibers and keeping your heart rate up.  This translates to more calories burned and making your body into a calorie burning machine throughout the day.  Listen for your instructor's cues and learn the crazy names of our exercises, this will make a big difference in utilizing your time in class effectively.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I TAKE CLASS?

We want to workout smarter with the goal of effective muscle stimulation.  Listen to your body!  Depending on your fitness level and the intensity of your workout, you will need more, or less, time to recover. We recommend 3 times a week to allow yourself proper recovery and repair.  If you feel great and want to come more, we'll be here!

CAN I WORKOUT AT MOTIVATE IF I AM PREGNANT?

For clients who are pregnant and new to the workout, we do not advise starting our classes. However, clients who have been regularly attending classes may continue working out with us as long as you have received approval from your doctor. Please contact us if you have any questions.

HOW DO I SCHEDULE A CLASS?

It’s easy! We have a user-friendly and extremely secure software system to assist you in reserving a class. Click SCHEDULE A CLASS, select your location, create a username and password, and use it to schedule, purchase and track your visit history. If you forget your password or need more information, please send us an email.

WHAT IF THE CLASS IS FULL?

You can add yourself to the wait-list for any class that is fully booked.  If a spot opens up 8 hours before class time, you will get an automated confirmation email, provided you are subscribed to receive email notifications.  HOWEVER, do not depend on this email.  With spam blocking, server hiccups, etc, these emails can get lost and Motivate wants to ensure you have the opportunity to cancel a class if you are unable to attend and not be subject to the late/no-show fees.  ALWAYS log in and check your schedule to see if you have been added whenever you sign up on a wait-list.

WILL MY SPOT BE GIVEN AWAY IF I'M LATE?

Yes. If you do not arrive within 5 minutes of the scheduled class time, your space may be given to someone who is waiting.

For safety purposes, we cannot allow members into class past 5 minutes of the start of class. If you arrive past 5 minutes, your visit will be considered a LATE CANCEL.
